CONGRATULATIONS TO:
MALIA L. and SARAH C.!!!!
They each won a CLAY CIRCLE GATHERING

(In my studio in American Canyon, CA)
Schedule of Clay Circle workshops coming (September 2013)
The Clay Circle is a deeply meditative and bonding experience. Unlike my other workshops; Intuitive Painting, we will not be using paint or brushes. It is completely unique to Eye Walker Studios ( best I know, and last I checked 4/2013)
We work with air drying clay and you can take your section of the circle home with you if you like.
Clay is one of the most ancient and sacred mediums used in ritual and art making. It is made of elements so basic that when clay breaks down after years of being left to the elements, it is hard to separate it from the surrounding soil.
When you think about it, we are made up of many of the same minerals you can find in the soil outside your door, and in a potter’s clay. So working a piece of clay provides a naturally grounding experience.
The materials become supple and warm as we work them, and the minerals n0urish our skin making it soft, while manipulating the clay has a deep massaging effect on the muscles of our hands and arms. The experience of the clay yielding and holding a form that you impress upon it is truly empowering and exciting.
You will be allowing your intuitive process to form something that is literally “out of the box” and 3-D.
This is such a wonderful bonding experience for groups: family members, co-workers, close friends, new friends; the list just goes on and on.
It’s a tactile meditative experience. You+3 others will sit around a table joined together by a circle of clay. After a brief introduction to the process, and silently, with only meditative background tones, you will mold, shape, manipulate, and experience the clay.
Being an expressive art, it is never about the end result, while you may come out with a gorgeous piece of art that you want to display in your home, that is not the goal. Because you will be working in kind of a meditative state you will be creating from the experience of being in your own presence with the clay
***I know, it sounds like a lot of work! and,
You already want to know what you’ll be making with the clay!
Well it is a lot of work, and we’ll take lots of short breaks.
What you make remains to be seen, and is only for you to discover.
Contact me with any questions or concerns you might have
