Art is inspired by, well, absolutely everything. I happened to run really quick into a store in a ferry terminal to grab a quick gift for someone and saw a small painting high on a shelf. I didn’t ask about it, but the image stayed in my memory long enough to make a couple of quick notes and sketches. The stark color palette and the bold use of lighting struck me the most. They remind me somewhat of cell phone towers masquerading as trees.
